We decided to have a look at where in the UK most people lease from and what cars are most common in those areas. We looked back at our customers over the years and have listed our top ten places for where they lease from.
It is no shock that the UK capital is the most popular place for leasing cars. As London covers an area 1,572 km2 we are not surprised that so many residents have decided to lease their new cars. Some of the more popular types of lease cars in London seem to be SUVs, like the Volvo XC40 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and hatchbacks like the Nissan Juke and Hyundai Kona.
Our second most popular place for leasing is Scotland’s most populous city - Glasgow. With a population of over 1.8 million people, Glasgow is not only a cultural hub to ballet, opera and theatre but a hub for car leasing. The most leased type of car in Glasgow are SUVs with models like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Volvo XC40 being the most favourable to drive in the area.
Third on our list is England’s second largest city, known as an administrative, recreational and cultural centre - Birmingham. Although home to a Jaguar Land Rover Factory, the most popular leased car in Birmingham is the Nissan Qashqai.
A surprising entry in this list is our fourth most popular place – Luton. Roughly 33 miles north of London, Luton and its surrounding areas seem to be a popular hub for leasing cars and is the only town on our list. Its most leased cars are the BMW X7 and the Hyundai Tucson.
Our fifth entry takes us over to Merseyside and to Liverpool. Well known for its culture, sports, architecture and transport links, Liverpool is a place of car leasing supporters as well! It doesn’t have a favourite model exactly, but most leasing customers tend to choose SUVs, like the Volvo XC90, Hyundai Tucson or the Nissan Qashqai.
