The pair are separate companies but Fiat creates the base versions on which Abarth then implement more sporty features. You can consider Abarth to be a more premium performance version of Fiat cars like the 500.

The Fiat range offers Petrol, Mild Hybrid and Electric fuel types. The Fiat Tipo, Fiat Tipo Cross and Fiat 500X offer petrol only while the Fiat Panda offers Petrol and Mild Hybrid versions. The Fiat 500 model is the only one to offer all three fuel types.

The Fiat range only offers a convertible or hatchback body style. The Fiat 500 is the only one which offers a convertible type as well as hatchback. The rest of the range like the Fiat 500X and the Fiat Tipo Cross are classed as hatchbacks only.
