What Is a Finance Company?

A finance company provides the funding for your lease contract. They are the legal owner of the car or van that you are leasing so you will need to make sure you abide by the terms of the contract you sign with them. We recommend reading your contract documents from your finance company in detail so that you understand what is required of you throughout the length of your contract.

If there are any issues with the lease car or if you need to make any changes to your contract such as extensions or mileage amendments, they are the people you need to get in contact with to do so.

Who Is My Finance Company?

There are many finance companies available when it comes to leasing. At Willow Leasing, our main leasing partner is Lex Autolease, but we also have access to dealer finance options. We will usually specify who the finance company is when you decide to order the vehicle. If your lease is through dealer finance, your finance company will be linked to whatever brand you have decided to lease.

Why Would I Need to Contact My Finance Company?

There are a handful of reasons why you may need to get in contact with your finance company:

• Private Plates
  • After you have had your car or van delivered, you may want to put your private number plate onto the vehicle. You will need to contact your finance company to organise this.
• Changes To Information
  • If you are moving house or your personal information has changed such as a change of name or email address, you will need to get in contact with your finance company to get this amended on your contract.
• Changes To Contract
  • If you need to change your mileage amount over the course of your contract, you will need to get in contact with the finance company to see if this option is available to you and if it is the finance company will get it sorted for you.
• Extensions
  • When your contract is coming to an end, you may want to get an extension to your contract so that you can take advantage of a new lease deal you have found. This can be done through your finance company but may not be an option available to all funders.
• Early Termination
  • For whatever reason, you may want to terminate your contract early and you have every right to do so. To do so, you will need to contact the finance company to get it organised.

How Do I Get in Contact with My Finance Company?

There is usually a customer service number that you can use to get in contact with your finance company and in some cases those finance companies offer a finance portal that you can log in and access.
